Cancellation of January 2022 meeting

It is with regret that the Committee have  decided to cancel the January  Meeting on Wednesday 19th January 2022 due to the  rapid spreading of the Omicron Variant. The safety of our members is of utmost importance to us and the knowledge that this variant can spread very easily between people has forced us to make this decision.

However, we have simply moved our Programme on a month and all being well, we will now have the talk  planned for January on Wednesday 16th February 2022 at 7.30pm. Hopefully more people will feel able to attend by this time.

The title is  “ The Sopwith 1½  Strutter” presented by Gerard Lohan. This will be an illustrated talk about the construction of a replica of this iconic World War 1 aircraft.

The March Meeting will be held on Wednesday 16th March 2022  at 7.30pm. Title:   Lasswade “Once a Thriving Village”  Jim Renwick will give an illustrated talk referring to some recent historical research.

The April Meeting will be held  on Wednesday 20th April 2022 at 7.30pm.

This is always the AGM but it is also planned to have a talk on the evening.  Title:  “Christianity in Lasswade.”  Andrew Renwick will give a talk tracing Christianity in the village from St Edwin’s Church in the 13th Century to the present day.

Posters for the above meetings will be put up around the town as usual.

There is no need to let me know if you intend to come along to these meetings.
