Lucy Wood, Mavisbank Community Engagement Officer at Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust has contacted us regarding some interesting events happening during April 2019 that we think might be of interest not only to our members but of course to the many readers of our posts.
Here below Lucy gives some information about these events:-
“I wanted to get in touch as we’ve a couple of events coming up in April, which I thought may be of interest .
First, we’ve an Oral History Workshop, hosted by Scotland’s Urban Past, which will provide training on oral history interviewing and recording.
This will take the form of two workshops which will take place on Monday 8th and Monday 15th April, from 10am-1pm each day, in the Community Room at Loanhead and St Margaret’s Primary.
Further details will shortly be posted on our Twitter and Facebook, however, should any of your members or readers wish to reserve places now they are very welcome to do so by getting in contact with me at this email address, which I am very happy for you to share.

Also taking place in April, on Wednesday 17th at 1.30pm, we’re holding a walk and talk exploring the history of the designed landscape at Mavisbank. The walk will take place onsite at Mavisbank, and will be led by Catherine Middleton, who works within the Heritage Management Directorate at Historic Environment Scotland.
Catherine specialises in casework relating to designed landscapes, and Scotland’s nationally important gardens- and so this should be a very interesting event.
Further information about this event can be found in the event posters, which I’ve attached [click on the link below].
Booking is required for both events, as space is limited- however, both events are free to attend.”
